ST segment and T wave abnormalities not caused by acute coronary syndromes.

چکیده
This article reviews the ST segment and T wave abnormalities seen in non-acute coronary syndrome (ACS) electrocardiograph presentations. Particular emphasis is placed on the distinction of these non-ACS syndromes from acute coronary syndrome related ST segment and or T wave change.

T‐Wave Abnormality as Electrocardiographic Signature of Myocardial Edema in Non‐ST‐Elevation Acute Coronary Syndromes
BACKGROUND T-wave abnormalities are common during the acute phase of non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes, but mechanisms underlying their occurrence are unclear. We hypothesized that T-wave abnormalities in the presentation of non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes correspond to the presence of myocardial edema. METHODS AND RESULTS Secondary analysis of a previously e...
متن کاملUtility of the prehospital electrocardiogram in diagnosing acute coronary syndromes: the Myocardial Infarction Triage and Intervention (MITI) Project.
OBJECTIVES We sought to determine whether the prehospital electrocardiogram (ECG) improves the diagnosis of an acute coronary syndrome. BACKGROUND The ECG is the most widely used screening test for evaluating patients with chest pain. METHODS Prehospital and in-hospital ECGs were obtained in 3,027 consecutive patients with symptoms of suspected acute myocardial infarction, 362 of whom were ...
متن کاملAssessing risk in FRISC.
Jacobsen et al. suggest that T-waves on the admission electrocardiogram (ECG) of patients presenting with nonST-elevation acute coronary syndromes deserve another look. In particular, using a variation of quantitative T-wave analysis, initially derived from observations in the TRIM study, they report that patients in the non-invasive arm of FRISC II with 6 ECG leads containing abnormal T-waves ...
متن کاملThe Potential Effect of Intravenous Calcitriol on the Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury and Inflammatory Biomarkers in Patients following Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of calcitriol on Ischemia-reperfusion Injury (IRI) and inflammatory biomarkers in patients with non-ST-segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (NSTEACS) undergoing elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Methods: A total of 72 patients with NSTEACS were randomly divided into two groups: (1) the calcitriol-treated grou...
